1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MelodyBolt's services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

MelodyBolt provides AI-generated personalized song creation services. Users provide story details and preferences, and we create custom songs using artificial intelligence technology.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when creating orders
  • Not use our service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Not submit content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on others' rights
  • Not attempt to interfere with or disrupt our services

4. Payment and Pricing

Song previews are provided free of charge. Full song access requires payment at the listed price. Payments are processed securely through Stripe or, where available, via cryptocurrency through NOWPayments. Prices are displayed in GBP or USD depending on your location and may be subject to change.

5. Refund Policy

Since you can preview your song before purchasing, we generally do not offer refunds for completed purchases. However, if there is a technical issue with your song delivery, please contact us and we will work to resolve it.

6. Your Song and Your Rights

Your song is yours to use. When you buy it, you receive a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use your custom song however you wish — personally or commercially. That includes:

  • Playing it at personal events and celebrations
  • Sharing it with friends and family
  • Posting it on social media, including monetised accounts
  • Using it in videos, client work, and other commercial projects

We do not charge for commercial use and we do not take a share of anything you earn from your song.

Certificate of rights

If you ever need your rights confirmed in writing — for a client, a platform, a publisher, or a distributor — we will issue you a certificate of rights free of charge. Just email us at hello@melodybolt.com from the address you ordered with, and we will send it over.

Why we hold distribution rights

MelodyBolt holds the master recording and distribution rights to songs created on the platform. We hold them for one practical reason: streaming services will only accept a release from the rights holder, so we need those rights in order to publish your song to Spotify, Apple Music, and other services on your behalf when you buy that add-on. We do not use them to restrict what you do with your own song.

Publishing it yourself

You are free to publish your song to streaming services yourself instead of using our distribution service. If we have already published it for you, please tell us first so that we can take our release down — the same recording cannot be live twice on the streaming platforms without causing a duplicate-release conflict. Removal usually takes around two weeks.

If you use our distribution service

Where you opt in to streaming distribution, your song may be distributed on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and other digital service providers. By opting in, you consent to the song — including any names and personal details contained within — being made publicly available. Streaming revenue from releases we distribute belongs to MelodyBolt, which is what allows us to offer distribution for a one-off price rather than an ongoing fee. MelodyBolt chooses how songs are credited on those platforms, including the use of artist personas.

Songs where distribution has not been opted into will not be published by us. We may use anonymised or non-identifying excerpts for promotional purposes.

7. AI-Generated Content

Songs are generated using AI technology. While we strive for quality, the nature of AI means results may vary. We do not guarantee that songs will be free from errors or meet specific expectations beyond what is heard in the preview.

8. Data Retention and File Deletion

Unpaid song previews and associated files are automatically deleted 7 days after creation. You will receive a warning email before deletion occurs. Once files are deleted, they cannot be recovered. Paid songs are retained for a reasonable period but MelodyBolt does not guarantee indefinite storage.

9. Limitation of Liability

MelodyBolt is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.

10. Service Availability

We strive to maintain continuous service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue services at any time with reasonable notice when possible.

11. Privacy

Your use of MelodyBolt is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.
